Hello there! I’ve been away for quite some time I know! Traveled to one of my favorite countries last month, celebrated my birthday, and basically just devoted time to catch up with work and family commitments and well, Life
But I’ve definitely missed blogging and you my dear readers. This time, I’m back with this post for all you classic (and classy) ladies out there.
For decades, the Little Black Dress (LBD) has been the enduring epitome of classic chic. Before Coco Chanel went against the tide and made the LBD chic, the color black had been associated in history as something that connotes death. Thus, it’s usually worn in funerals. I even have a Chinese friend who doesn’t have a single piece of black clothing in her closet, a testament to how black is seen as bad luck.

If you don’t have an LBD in your closet yet (which you should!!) or if you already have some but would want to update your wardrobe (I am of the opinion that you can NEVER have too much LBDs), I bring you some of these LBD offerings in cooperation with my partner site, City Goddess, a great online shopping site, whether you’re in the mood for some classic or trendy pieces. These LBDs are perfect for the office or a romantic dinner, when you just want just a bit of detail to keep them guessing 🙂

Meanwhile, this bandeau body con LBD is perfect for layering and can serve as the starting piece for any fab outfit (think with a jacket or even worn as a top):

For a more modern, updated LBD, I like the cuff detail on this jersey dress, this laser cut dress, and this LBD which combines military and peplum trends.

Whether it’s classic or trendy, there’s surely an LBD that will suit your style and make you appreciate why the Little Black Dress has this enduring allure, and why the LBD is the most iconic piece of fashion any woman can have. Happy LBD hunting! Cheers 🙂

I don’t have on, although I’d like to. Problem lang kasi is black can’t be worn during weddings e since I don’t attend a lot of other formal celebrations (the bulk really are weddings), I find that having an LBD might just go to waste. =(
Hi Tin! LBDs can be worn not just for formal occasions but for practically anywhere! 🙂
I cannot agree more! I have half a closet filled with them, but I always find myself buying more. Some of the dresses have been with me for more than 15 years, and I still get compliments everytime I wear them. Like you, it’s what I grab when I am running late and undecided on what to wear. But I don’t wear it when I know I am going to see my mother-in-law; otherwise, she will have a fit. 🙂
Hi Tina! Wow, it seems you really have good quality clothes for them to last such a long time (and your figure is well-maintained too, I bet) 🙂
LBD are classic and will always be in! XD nice choices.. love it!

Hi! I really like your dresses like the one you are wearing here, as well as some of your jersey dresses. Would it be ok if you tell me where you buy those? Thanks!
Hi. That black dress I got from Vestito (available at The Ramp Crossings). Details of the outfit can be found in Week 2 of my 30 for 30 Remix summer edition (see side bar). Thanks!
