I have made some quite substantial changes to my blog recently. This stemmed from what I really wanted this blog to be about and the direction I want it to take in the future.
As you can see in my very first post on this blog, I really envisioned Sunset Goddess Manila as a travel blog. As the months went on, it eventually had just about everything—travel, food, fashion, and bits and pieces of inspiration and things that interested me. I found it very cathartic and fulfilling especially since I really went back to blogging because I missed writing (a need which could never be met by Facebook or other social networking sites).
This has been the most active and fulfilled that I’ve ever been blogging-wise ever since I started on Blogger in 2005. However, I do feel that I’m ready to take it to a new level. And after some reflection (and I really thought long and hard about this and even sought advice from various sources), I’ve decided that I really want to preserve my original intentions for this blog.
In the past year, I’ve wrestled with what this blog should really be about. And I’ve decided that while I want to blog to share so many things, the best and my most favorite thing is travel. It all comes down and goes back to travel. So, Sunset Goddess Manila is now, more aptly, Sunset Goddess Travels.
It will be all about travel but still very much me—the way I travel is also the way I live: all done in fabulousness and in love. Although I’m not a backpacker kind of traveler, I’m passionate about traveling nonetheless. I also don’t have a trust fund so I’m conscientious whenever I travel—I like to treat myself to little luxuries every now and then but I also like to keep things in budget and to get my money’s worth. I’m kikay but I’m not high maintenance nor am I delicado. I like to dress up in real life so whenever I travel, I pay attention to what I wear. I’m also a lawyer so that’s my background not just as a traveler but as as a conscientious consumer as well. I’ve grown up as a Manila girl but Samar is also very much part of who I am, giving me a different perspective on urban life as well as life in the Philippines’ provinces. I’m into photography; whenever I travel, I like taking pictures but I also like having my pictures taken. I like to go on girlfriend getaways, to be gone for the weekend, and even to travel on business. I love to go away on holiday with loved ones, but solo travel is still in my bucket list. I love traveling around the Philippines but it is also my dream to see more of the rest of the world.
That’s just some of what I’m about and as for the rest, well, I would just like to let Sunset Goddess Travels speak for itself.
But what about everything else? What about food, fashion, leisure, and inspiration? Well, aside from streamlining this blog into travel, I’m also currently in the process of migrating all my non-travel posts to another blog, which I will tell you all about as soon as it’s ready (and as soon as I get my own domain name for Sunset Goddess Travels). I know that maintaining two blogs will pose a different challenge but I’m just so excited for these changes! (**UPDATE: Sunset Goddess Manila is now my lifestyle blog. Check it out at sunsetgoddessmanila.blogspot.com here.)

Thanks for the well-wishes Tin 🙂
I love that you’re going back to your original intent with the blog. Maintaining two is definitely challenging but it’s doable. I really like having a separate one solely for the photography business where I’m free to post huge photos of whatever I like!!
Thanks Stephanie! you’re truly one of my lawyer/photographer inspirations 🙂
pwede naman sabay sabay yun, gawan mo lang ng travel perspective. love the photo by the way 🙂
Salamat Christian 😉 And thanks for your photography inspirations and tips 🙂
