Last June, I’ve had a bout of nostalgia for the hometown and that brought on the idea of booking my holiday for August—turned out, it was perfect timing with the upcoming four day-long weekend next week. Although I was in the hometown only in February for the town fiesta, I’m looking forward to going home without the flurry of activities and celebrations surrounding the fiesta. This time, I look forward to simple rest and relaxation amidst the quiet of non-events and getting to enjoy the daily life of Pagsanghan, Samar—just like the old days, when I spent my summer vacations there when I was a schoolgirl. I’m also looking forward to a dash of adventure in the province of Northern Samar (different from Samar province), in a magical place I’ve wanted to visit for years but it’s only on this trip that I’ll finally be able to go. This will be a getaway in every sense of the word.
And as inspired by the stylish A Mischmashed Life, I’m all set and ready to go with a Chicify Travel Pouch, perfect to hold all the little knickknacks that don’t quite fit in my other pouches and bright travel wallet, which is from Fab Manila (another favorite online seller).
Travel journal and foldable straw hat, check. Magazines and book to read on vacation, check. Wanderlust sprinkled with homesickness, big check.
I’m all set and ready to go. Samar is calling.

Hi PinasBackpackers! 🙂 Thank you. Samar is a wonderful place–still unspoiled and perfect for backpackers and adventure travelers.I’m glad Samar is on your list 🙂 I’m still going through the hundreds of photos from my Samar trip and still haven’t gotten around to posting them though 🙁 Regarding exchanging links, sure! Just let me know how it should go 🙂 hehe
