The food in Balay Indang, where we spent a girlfriend getaway weekend, was amazing. Our overnight stay cost P2,500 per pax, which already includes overnight accommodation and five meals (lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, breakfast, and morning snack). And except for the salads, the food and drinks were refillable 🙂 Sharing with you now some photos of the sumptuous and never ending food 🙂
The food was served in the main house dining room.
What we had for lunch:
We had green salad, egg omelet, fried rice, shrimp skewers, carbonara pasta, chicken with mushroom, and the star for lunch—tuna with wasabi. It was really good. All this with cold dalandan juice. Our afternoon snack was served in the poolhouse, made up of saging na turon (banana fritters), pancit sotanghon (sauteed vermicelli) with a really pungent garlic flavor, and ice cold Coke
This was dinner. We were served salad, mushroom soup, fish with broccoli, a shrimp with coconut dish, grilled liempo with curry sauce, baked fish, and the must-try was the pork embotido with cheese. Said to be to die for, and we agree. A really great take on the usual embotido.
I love the mismatched plate sets and the lovely details even on the dinnerware too 🙂
For breakfast the next day, we were once again served with a big meal, composed of cucumber salad, daing (salted fish), tortang talong (eggplant omelet), rice, bread with jam, and your choice of coffee or hot chocolate. The chocolate was really good but coffee was just instant coffee.
And lastly, for our mid-morning snack, we had a pesto with pecan treat and little buco pies with sago gulaman.
Wishing everyone a happy, happy weekend! Cheers! 🙂
