Aside from the fact that I never really encountered an opportunity where cooking for myself became essential, it was also something for which I was never really trained. Growing up, my aunts had a small bakery business and sure enough, baking was something I was trained to do, but not cooking.
So cooking is somewhat intimidating for me. But little by little, I want to conquer that fear.
I paired the tilapia with a mixed greens, grilled chicken, and pear salad with honey vinaigrette which I found here.
Then the next day, I tried out another salad recipe, this time for a Greek salad. And I even cut and prepared all the ingredients myself!
To be honest, I was very surprised with how easy it was to do the recipes. I thought it would be hard to find all the ingredients in one place but I got all of them in my neighborhood Unimart Supermarket in Greenhills.
I also thought cooking and preparing food for myself would be such a tedious process—but I learned it was just a matter of getting the right, easy recipes, and that cooking can actually be fun and rewarding.
Now, it’s just on to learn how to cook rice 🙂 Haha. Cheers!
