Before we explored Vigan’s Calle Crisologo, we first had late lunch in Cafe Uno, a coffeshop accessible from the street or through a connecting door in our hotel, Grandpa’s Inn. The ambiance of the cafe/ restaurant was just like the Inn itself—very cozy and quaint. As verified from Grandpa’s Inn’s website, the restaurant across the street from the Inn, Uno Grille, has also the same owners as Grandpa’s Inn, along with Cafe Uno and Kusina Felecitas (the restaurant inside the Inn).

I remember us loving the pinakbet because the vegetables weren’t overcooked and had the right touch of bitterness of the ampalaya. It’s cooked quite differently from the pinakbet we have at home (no squash?) and I really liked it. As for the bagnet, the meat was not tender but maybe it’s really supposed to be like that? If you ask me, it just tasted like hard lechon kawali. But I really loved the fish dish though. You must order it if you go to Cafe Uno too 🙂
Here are the choices for our complimentary breakfast, with a serving of instant coffee or tea:

All in all, Grandpa’s Inn had good food to offer. But just don’t order the cakes 🙂 Wishing us all more travels. Cheers!
